You want your plants to thrive and grow strong, healthy and beautiful. But even the most experience plant owner might need to face some of the most common house plants problem. Here you can learn more about the typical challenges and how to deal with them.
1. My plant is stretching
Your houseplant needs light to grow. If you notice that it starts to grow long, but thin and weak stems that are directed towards a light source, it means that it needs more sunlight.
Solution: move your plant closer to a window, preferably south or east facing one.
2. My plant has brown leaf tips
If your plant has brown tips on its leaves, it means you need to have a closer look at your watering routine. While watering, make sure to see if the water goes out through the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and water the plant only if needed. It's best to water your plant with filtered water or rainwater as it contains less salt. Brown tips on your plant leaves can also mean that the air is too dry. Try using humidifier.
3. My plant has curling leaves
Some of the plants curl their leaves naturally, such as Calathea (Prayer Plant) but more often than not, curly leaves are a sign of insect presence or disease. Have a through look at the leaves, also at the bottom part of the leaves and look for signs of insects. It's best to clean your plant with a strong shower to remove any unwanted pests and then spray it with solution of dish soap or insecticide.
